This podcast is a presentation of the 5th grade Poetry and Music Project. In the interdisciplinary project, students explore different types of un-rhymed poetry and write their own, then they perform the poems infusing music in the form of "sound envelopes".

This Podcast is a Re-tell of the famous symphonic poem performed, illustrated and re-told by my current 2nd graders at Harrington Elementary. After listening to Prokofiev’s music and watching a video of the story, the class discussed diferent instruments used to describe each character, then chose instruements from our classroom to perform short melodic ostinatos. I combined their performances with the illustrations students did for each sentence of their class re-tell, and added some of the original music for the final project. We hope you enjoy the presentation!
